After getting heads up, Jason Calnan and Raj Patel agreed to an even chop of the money, awarding Jason the trophy and the World Poker Finals title.  Congratulations to both players!

2nd Place: Raj Patel ($12,101)

3rd Place: Jose Pereira ($6,391)

In three back-to-back hands, Raj Patel doubled through Jose Pereira, then Jose doubled through Raj, then Raj knocked out Jose.  Here's how it happened:

On the first hand, Raj Patel found himself all in on a a [Qh][4h][Jd] flop with [Js][Jc] and was up against the open ended straight draw of Jose Pereira who held [Kd][Td].  The [5h] turn and [Kc] kept Raj's set in front, and he doubled up.

On the second hand, Jose was all in preflop with [Kh][7h] and was up against Raj's [Th][7s].  The [4h][Tc][Ah] gave Raj the best hand with a pair of sevens, but Jose was still very live with a flush draw and a draw to a pair of kings.  The [3h] hit the turn to lock up the doubleup for Jose, and the river fell the meaningless [2h].

The two tangled one last time when Jose was all in with [Ah][Kh] and was up against Raj's [Ac][Tc].  Jose was in great shape to double up when the flop fell [3c][6d][8d], and he maintained his lead on the [8s] turn.  But the [Th] was the three outer Raj needed to eliminate Jose in 3rd place.  Jose was unlucky in this last hand, but he'll have $6,391 to console him for his efforts today.

Raj Patel doubles through Jason Calnan

Raj Patel moved all in from the small blind and was called by Jason Calnan in the big blind.  Raj held [Ad][6d] and was up against Jason's [Ah][3c].  Jason begged for a chop, but the board ran out [7h][9c][2s][6h][Qc], pairing Raj and earning him the double up.  He now has 500,000.

4th Place: Tom Dobrilovic ($4,753)

Jason Calnan raised preflop and Tom Dobrilovic moved all in.  Jason made the all and showed [Ks][Kc] which was in front of Tom's [7s][7d].  The [Td][6c][Tc][Kd][4d] board failed to deliver Tom a seven to suck out, and he will exit the tournament in 4th place.  Tom will collect $4,753 for his efforts.

Raj Patel doubles through Jason Calnan

At 12,000/24,000 blinds, Raj Patel moved all in from the small blind for 167,000 and was called by Jason Calnan.  Raj held [Th][Tc] and was in good shape to double up against Jason's [Jh][Td].  The [2h][9s][Ah] flop was good for Raj, but the [7c] turn gave Jason a gut shot straight to go with his overcard.  The [4c] river blanked and Raj breathed a sigh of relief as he doubled up.

5th Place: Jeremy Perez ($3,606)

Jeremy Perez moved all in preflop holding [Kd][6d] and Raj Patel moved all in over the top with [Js][Jd].  Jeremy failed to suck out when the board ran out [4s][Qd][3c][8h][2d], and he will be our 5th place finisher.  Jeremy takes home $3,606 for his efforts today.

Tom Dobrilovic doubles through Jose Pereira

Under the gun, Jose Pereira minraised to 40,000.  Action folded around to Tom Dobrilovic in the big blind who moved in.  Jose snap called and tabled [9h][9d] but Tom had picked up [Ks][Kh].  The board ran out a pure [4d][Ac][5s][3d][8c] to give Tom the double up, bumping his stack up to 450,000.

6th Place: Steven Weeks ($2,950)

Raj Patel moved all in preflop and Steven Weeks called all in for less from the small blind.  Tom Dobrilovic in the big blind had a big decision, and after a few minutes he folded pocket tens face up.  Raj held [Ah][8h] and Steven held [Qd][Jc], so Tom would have been fighting three overs.

The flop fell [Tc][8d][Kd], giving Steven an open ended straight draw to go with his two overcards.  The [6h] turn and [8c] river failed to improve Steven, and he will be eliminated in 6th place.  He will collect $2,950 for his efforts.

Meanwhile, Tom has been bemoaning his fold as he would have tripled up with tens full.

Steven Weeks doubles through Jason Calnan

Steven Weeks was all in preflop holding [As][3s] against the [Qs][Jh] of Jason Calnan.  Steven wasted no time locking up the double up, flopping the wheel on the [4h][2d][5d] flop.  There was to be no chop as the turn and river came [7c][3h], and Steven now sits on 290,000.

7th Place: Fabio Dagata ($2,403)

Fabio Dagata has been eliminated when his [8h][5h] failed to improve against his opponent's [Ac][Qd].  The final board read [Ts][4s][Kh][Tc][Td], and Fabio headed to the cage to collect $2,403 for his 7th place finish.

Raj Patel was all in preflop holding [Ac][Qs] and was up against the [Ah][Ks] of Fabio Dagata.  Fabio was in good shape to eliminate his opponent, but the [6h][Qc][7s] changed all of that.  Raj took the lead with a pair of queens, and they held through the [5s] turn and [9d] river.  Raj will double up to over 600,000, while Fabio was knocked down to around 200,000.

8th Place: Richard Kantor ($1,912)

Richard Kantor moved all in preflop holding [Ad][Jh] and was called by Jeremy Perez holding [Ac][Kh].  Again, Richard only slightly had Jeremy covered and would be crippled if he lost.  This time the best hand held up as the board ran out [5d][7d][8s][8h][4c], and Jeremy doubled up.

Down to a little more than a big blind, Richard was all in the next hand and Jose Pereira moved all in over the top.  Fabio Dagata thought for some time on the button, but ultimately folded along with the blinds.  Richard held [9h][9c] but was up against Jose's [Qs][Qd].  Richard could not find a nine on the [4d][5s][3h][Kh][5c] board, and he will exit this tournament in 8th place, good for $1,912.

Tom Dobrilovic doubles through Steven Weeks

Tom Dobrilovic was all in preflop holding [Ac][Qh] and was up against the [Ad][Kd] of Steven Weeks.  Steven barely had Tom covered, so if a queen spiked, he would be crippled.  Much to Steven's dismay, that's exactly what happened as the flop fell [Qs][Th][Ts].  Steven would need a jack or a king to survive, but the [4h] turn and [2s] river failed to deliver.  Tom will double up to 240,000, while Steven was knocked down to a just a couple of big blinds.

9th Place: Eric Siegel ($1,534)

Eric Siegel moved all in preflop and Richard Kantor moved all in over the top.  The rest of the table folded, and the two showed their hands:

Mark Dube was all in preflop holding [Jc][8h] and was up against the dominating [Ah][Js].  The board ran out [9s][4s][Qc][Kd][Qd] to send Mark to the rail in 10th place, good for $1,201.

On a [5s][Qs][4s] flop, Dominick Pelli was all in holding [Qd][Js] and was up against his opponent's [Kd][Qc].  Dominick was in need of a jack or a spade to survive, but the [7h] turn and [3c] river failed to deliver one of his outs.  Dominick will exit this tournament in 11th place for $1,201, and the remaining 10 are now redrawing for seats at the final table.

Mark Dube wins a monster pot

Fabio Dagata raised preflop and Mark Dube called on the button.  The flop fell [8s][2s][9d] and Fabio check called a 16,000 bet from Mark.  The two saw a [Tc] turn and again Fabio check called a bet, this time for 35,000.  When the river fell the [4h], Fabio checked for a  third time.  This time Mark made a big bet of 100,000, which Fabio ended up calling.  Mark flipped over [Qc][Jc] for the nuts, and will scoop a huge pot with one left to go until the final table.

Players are now in the money

With the elimination of our 16th place finisher, all 15 remaining players are now in the money.  Each player is guaranteed $1,092, but all eyes are on the first place prize of $14,641.
