Tweets from the end of Day 1A

Five more hands in Day 1

With 10 minutes to go in Level 10, a card has been drawn. Five more hands will be played before players bag up their chips tonight. Day 1 saw 72 entrants compete, and just 25 remain. The surviving players will return on Sunday for Day 2. They will combine with the surviving players from tomorrow's Day 1B, which begins at 11am.

James Campbell takes a big hit

On a [Js][2d][Td] flop, James Campbell's opponent was all in with [Ad][Jd] and was up against James's [Qs][Qd]. The [8c] turn was safe, but the [5d] river completed James's opponent's flush. His stack was counted down to 38,700, and James will pay off the allin, bringing his stack down to just under 100,000 with 10 minutes to go in Day 1.

Two more levels left in the day

The 35 remaining players from the 71 that started the day have just returned from their last break of the day. Blinds are now 400/800 with a 100 ante, and the field will play this level and one more before bagging up their chips for the day. The survivors will return on Sunday at 11am to play Day 2.

Chris Tryba doubles up

On the first hand back after dinner break, Chris Tryba doubled up when his [Ad][8d] turned the nut flush. Chris now sits on 55,000.

Mark Dickstein knocks two out on the last hand before dinner break

We arrived to Mark Dickstein's table to find him standing up with three sets of hole cards in front of him. Mark had his two opponents covered and had the best hand, with his [As][Ks] up against [Ad][Js] and [Kd][Jc]. The board ran out [6h][Kh][Ah][6s][Jh] to send Mark's two opponents to the rail, and increasing his stack to over 75,000.
