WSOP Casino Championship Explained

For the eighth year in a row, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is holding the Global Casino Championship event.  The GCC is an invitation-only event, and has a guaranteed prizepool of $1,000,000. The winner of the GCC is also awarded a coveted WSOP  bracelet. The truly unique part about the GCC is that most players enter for free.


There are a few ways to win your free seat into the GCC:

1. Win the Main Event at one of the Circuit stops during the season. 
2. Win Casino Champion at one of the Circuit stops during the season. (EXPLAINED BELOW)
3. Qualify for one of the 50 "at-large" spots (the overall 50-top point earners from all combined stops throughout the season.)
4. Qualify at one of the International Circuit stops. 

In addition to the free seats, the following players may buy into the GCC tournament for $10,000:

1. Anyone in the top 100 of the 2017 WSOP player-of-the-year race. 
2. Any ring winner from the 2017-2018 season that did not otherwise qualify through points or casino champion titles. 

CASINO CHAMPION EXPLAINED:  Over the course of the 12 ring events during this Foxwoods series, all players that cash will earn points. Those events include only the ring events listed here:  

• Event #1: $365 No-Limit Hold’em – 1 Re-Entry (Thursday, August 17, 11 a.m.)
• Event #2: $580 No-Limit Hold’em Re-Entry (Thursday, August 17, 5 p.m.)
• Event #3: $365 No-Limit Hold’em – Turbo, 1 Re-Entry (Saturday, August 19, 4 p.m.)
• Event #4: $580 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Max – 1 Re-Entry (Sunday, August 20, 12 p.m.)
• Event #5: $365 No-Limit Hold’em Monster Stack – 1 Re-Entry (Monday, August 21, 11 a.m.)
• Event #6: $580 No-Limit Hold’em – 1 re-entry (Tuesday, August 22, 11 a.m.)
• Event #7: $365 Omaha 8 or Better – 1 Re-Entry (Tuesday, August 22, 2 p.m.)
• Event #8: $365 No-Limit Hold’em – 1 Re-Entry (Wednesday, August 23, 11 a.m.)
• Event #9: $365 No-Limit Hold’em – Unlimited Re-Entry (Thursday, August 24, 11 a.m.)
• Event #10A: $1,675  MAIN EVENT – 1 Re-Entry (Friday, August 25, 12 p.m.)
• Event #10B: $1,675  MAIN EVENT – 1 Re-Entry (Friday, August 25, 12 p.m.)
• Event #11: $3,250 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller – 1 Re-Entry (Sunday, August 27, 5 p.m.)
• Event #12: $365 No-Limit Hold’em – 1 Re-Entry (Monday, August 28, 11 a.m.)

At the conclusion of the 12 ring events, the top overall point earner will win the title of "Foxwoods Casino Champion," along with the free seat into the GCC, valued at $10,000. The points are updated overnight, after the conclusion of each ring event, and the leaderboard can be found here:
