Event 1 $400 NLH: Vittorio Faricelli Wins Event 1 ($11,187)
The opening event of the Foxwoods WSOP Circuit was the $400 NLH Ring Event. There were a total of 113 entries creating a prize pool of over $37,000. When the dust settled it was New York native Vittorio Faricelli in the winners circle.
Faricelli quietly built one of the biggest stacks in the mid stages of Day 1. The players fell fast and Faricelli found himself at the final table sitting second in chips. He caught fire when final table play began dragging in pot after pot.
When Day 1 play came to end it was Faricelli holding the chip lead with just three players remaining. He picked up right where he left off on Day 2 eliminating James Campbell early on in third.
Faricelli brought nearly a 3-1 chip lead into heads-up play but Lowell Kim scored an early double up. Faricelli kept his composure and battled back to regain control. He chipped away at Kim and it didn't take long for Faricelli to secure the victory.
After finishing second in the Harrah's Atlantic City $365 NLH WSOP Circuit Event in March Faricelli got his so called "monkey off his back" by winning his first WSOP Circuit ring and $11,187. The victory here today also marks another poker milestone for Faricelli.
With the $11,187 score he has now crossed the $100,000 mark in live tournament poker earnings.
