Championship: Justin Carey Defeats Maurice Hawkins To Win His Second WSOP Circuit Ring and $143,293

The Foxwoods Poker WSOP Circuit $1,700 NLH $500,000 Guaranteed Championship drew a total of 468 entries creating a massive prize pool of over $700,000.

It was a stacked field filled with plenty of experienced pros and when the dust settled it was 22 year old Justin Carey in the winners circle.

In his own words Carey played a "nearly perfect" final table on Day 3 denying Florida pro Maurice Hawkins of his record 14th WSOP Circuit ring after a heads up battle.

Carey takes home his largest career tournament score of $143,293 which is more than double his previous live earnings. He also earns his second WSOP Circuit ring along with a seat into the WSOP Circuit National Championship.

Justin Carey moved all in and Maurice Hawkins called for his last 2,850,000. Carey turned over A♦️8♥️ but he was in bad shape against the A♠️Q♥️ of Hawkins.

The dealer fanned the 8♠️4♦️3♥️ flop and Carey paired his ace in the window to take the lead. The turn 7♣️ and river 9♥️ sealed the deal and the players shook hands.

Hawkins is our Championship runner up and will take home $88,557 for his efforts.
